Jeremy Beightol
Kaspauberalles@aol.com
Jeremy Beightol, born in the small industrial lake town of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been cultivating his artistic point of view since sketching on a bar napkin three years ago. Coincidentally, this caught the attention of the art director of one of Erie’s most avant-garde theatres. Riding on this newfound encouragement he decided to pick up a paintbrush. From that point forward he began to gain entry into several local annual exhibitions in Erie, as well as shows in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
Beightol finds inspiration in the mythologies and metaphors surrounding him in daily life, and which in his eyes are symbolic to how a community defines itself. He uses layers of graphic text and symbols to convey stories within stories, each set of visuals a tongue-in-cheek expression of the often glorified mundane.
