NPAA Scholarship Competition for 2010
The Northwestern Pennsylvania Artist's Association will award one, two or three $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors accepted as visual arts majors at a college or university for the 2010-2011 school year.To be considered for a scholarship applicants must submit the following:
- 5-10 slides or digital files of original artwork. These are to be marked with the applicant's name, media, title and size of work. These visuals will be returned if accompanied by a return envelope with postage.
- Two recommendations from art instructors, teachers, or NPAA members.
- A 300-word essay that includes: the applicant's aspirations, purpose in his/her art, influences, strengths, and how any visual art problems have been met and overcome.
A panel of NPAA members will decide scholarship recipients based on the above criteria. Accepted applicants and their recommendations will be notified of the awards by May 12, 2010.
