NPAA Scholarship Competition for 2015

Over the past fifteen years the Northwestern Pennsylvania Artists Association has awarded over $40,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Erie region who will pursue studies in visual arts. We invite seniors to submit your portfolio for this year's competition as we celebrate our 16th Annual Scholarship and Exhibition to be held at Erie's historic Warner Theater on June 24, 2015. The NPAA will award up to three $1,000 scholarships at this year's event. To be considered for a scholarship applicants must submit the following:
  1. 5- 10 digital files of original artwork. These are to be marked with the applicant's name, media, title and size of work. These visuals will be returned if accompanied by a return envelope with postage. Please double check to make sure the files can be opened.
  2. Two letters of recommendations from art instructors, teachers, or NPAA members.
  3. A 300 word essay that includes: the applicants aspirations, purpose in his/her art, influences, strengths, and how any visual art problems have been met and overcome.
  4. Please include applicant's name, address, e-mail and phone number for contact information.
A panel of NPAA members will decide the scholarship recipients based on the above criteria. If no applicants are considered worthy of scholarship awards, the monies will be carried forward for presentation next year. Accepted applicants will be notified of the awards by May 21, 2015. If you have any questions e-mail the NPAA at npaaonline@npaaonline.org.

Essay, visuals and recommendations need to be received no later than May 1, 2015 to:
